LA RAMBLA
 

 

La Rambla is a town in the province of Cordoba, located south of the province. This village is famous for its pottery, and all peoples of the area come here to buy it. The last data are from 2015 and have 7415 people.

 

 

It is a fun town as it has many festivals throughout the year as ''Feria y Fiestas San Lorenzo'', ''Easter Week'' or ''Christmas''.

 



 A bit of history.
In La Rambla settled the prehistoric, where some years ago a few bell-shaped glasses were situated with more than 3.000 years. Later, a Roman city settled itself and the Muslims founded ALRAMLA.
 In La Rambla, Cordoba, March 4, 1864, there was born Alejandro Lerroux, who occupied the presidency of the government during a brief period of the Second Spanish Republic.

 

ECONOMY.



His principal source of economy continues being the agriculture, though also the pottery stands out, and it is joining to the international market.

 

But it is not the only one, the city ''La Rambla'' has a modern factory of flour, of the biggest of Spain.

There is a high push of companies of the furniture, with approximately forty industries and malls specialized in articles of gift.



ARTISTIC AND MONUMENTAL HERITAGE.



Nuns Tower

The places that you should visit if you come to La Rambla are:
-Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción.

-Church of Santísima Trinidad.

-Church of Espíritu Santo.

-Nuns tower.

Museums that you can visit are: The House Museum Alfonso Ariza, dedicated to the sculptor, painter and local ceramist Alfonso Ariza Moreno.
The Ceramics Museum dedicated to the great tradition of craftsmanship of existing ceramic in the town.

GASTRONOMY.

It has influence of the kitchen andalusí, the stews are frequent with olive oil, with vinegar, with breadcrumbs, with garlic, parsley, saffron...Though also there exists an influence of the kitchens of the north of Africa.
You can enjoy food as the ''salmorejo'', the ''migas'', the ''gazpacho''.



Is a tradition that older people make sweets when there are parties in town.
They do ''gañotes'',''pestiños'', and donuts.




FESTIVALS.

 

The holidays of La Rambla are very enterteining. You can come in...

 

CARNIVAL!!! Celebrated always forty days before Easter Week.The people disguise herself and they enjoy with his friends.

 

MAD CARS. Celebrated at the beginning of September. It is a holiday that is only done in this city. There go people of all sides. It is famous for being one of the most fun holidays.








Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno.

EASTER WEEK. This year begins on Sunday, the 29th of March. Is one of the most beautiful weeks of the year in La Rambla.

FAIR AND HOLIDAYS OF SAN LORENZO.  Lasts three days, it is from the 10th to the 12th. Many attractions come for children, and there are some concerts.









This is the most important procession that you can find in La Rambla.

Suraj Sharma (Pi Patel)-> He was born on March 21, 1993 in the city of New Delhi (India).Suraj studied at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya school. Is an actor who became known in 2012 for his role in the American film The Life of Pi.

Before his début, Suraj was not experienced at the action. It tested only because he had accompanied his brother, Sriharsh Sharma, who asked him to accompany it. He won the role of Piscine Molitor Patel (Pi).





Sahabzade Irrfan (Older Pi)->was born on 30 November 1962. Is an Indian film actor and televisión.H e is the winner of two Filmfare Awards and a SAG Award. He played Dr. Rajit Ratha in the movie The Amazing Spiderman.









Adil Hussain (Santosh Patel)->was born on 5 October 1963. Is an Indian stage, television and film actor from the state of Assam, who works in mainstream Hindi cinema as well as art house cinema. He has worked in international films like The Reluctant Fundamentalist (2012) and Life of Pi (2012).







Tabu (Gita Patel)-> was born on 4 november 1971. She is an Indian film actress. She has won the National Film Award for Best Actress twice, and has received five Filmfare Awards. She is considered one of the most successful actresses in India.

The secondary actors who appear in the movie are Rafe Spall that he has the writer's role,
Gérard Depardieu that he is the french cook, Ayush Tandon is Pi Pater when he was 12 years old and James Saito is the older Insurance Investigator.

 

Plot:

Pi Patel is visited by a writer in search of ideas for a novel. It will tell him on his voyage for 227 days for the sea.The parents of Pi have to go away to Canada and sell all the animals. The ship sinks and Pi remains in a boat with Richard Parker(the tiger)
The director Ang Lee believes a movie in which a young person manages to survive a catastrophe in the sea. Pi establishes a good friendship with a wild animal...a Bengal tiger.

Personal opinion:

In my opinion, it is a movie that makes you think about the values of life. Pi is based on his tiger Richard. He tries to keep the animal alive. The conclusion that I get from this movie is that if we have someone who is with us, everything will be better.

On the one hand, the part that more I like is that Pi caresses Richard Parker when this one is sick.This shows the love that Pi has him to the animal, and the support that him gives during in shipwrec.

 I disappoint when the tiger lost in the forest; the protagonist feels empty and alone.

On the other hand, also I like the scene where the whale appears. I like very much the special effects that they him put.
